The diagnosis, treatment and aftermath of cancer can result in psychological distress, and often magnifies existing stressors.
 
Clinical psychologists Dr Charlotte Tottman and Mr Robin Tottman provide psychological services for cancer patients, and family members and carers, who are experiencing psychological distress.

In the context of cancer diagnosis, treatment and prognosis, Charlotte and Robin are experienced in treating;
  adjustment difficulties
  anxiety
  depression
  grief and loss
  trauma
  body image concerns
  fear of cancer recurrence/progression
  intimacy and sexuality difficulties
  partner, family and other relationship changes ​

​Principal therapeutic approaches include
  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
  • Interpersonal Psychotherapy.
 
Individual, couple and family sessions are available.
 
Most psychology sessions are conducted in our consulting rooms, with inpatient (hospital and hospice) and home visits available as required.
 
Assessment and therapy sessions are each 50 minutes duration.
 
Charlotte and Robin endeavour to book an initial session with new clients as soon as possible.
